The microfleece lining is genuinely soft against my ears, no itch at all even after wearing it for a couple hours. Snow just beads up on the outer fabric instead of soaking through.

Wore this on a wet, slushy walk and the microfleece lining kept my ears toasty the whole time. The shell shed sleet instead of soaking through, which I didn't expect from something this lightweight.

The water and snow repellent fabric actually works—I wore this through a wet, slushy afternoon and my head stayed completely dry underneath. The microfleece lining is soft without being bulky, so it fits fine under a hood or helmet.
